The Gulf States Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Center (GSHTC) is dedicated to providing the best and most clinically advanced care to persons with hemophilia, Von Willebrand disease and other bleeding and clotting disorders. We have been providing this care since 1977. To maintain this standard of excellence, GSHTC has an experienced team of professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive care to a culturally diverse population of children, adults, and their families.
The GSHTC, as part of the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston Medical School, Department of Pediatrics, is a federally funded hemophilia treatment center that provides comprehensive care to over 700 pediatric and adult patients with bleeding and clotting disorders.
Our center has a full complement of professional and administrative staff (27 staff and 4 physicians) that meet clinical and research needs for our patient population. The clinics for patients with hemophilia and other bleeding and clotting disorders are staffed by hematologists, social workers, nurses, dentists, genetic counselor, physical therapist, thrombophilia nurse, and research nurses.
