The Education //
The education of the patients and their family is a major part of comprehensive care. We spend much of our time teaching patients and families about their disease, how to treat it, realistic expectations and the possible outcomes. It is our belief that the more a family understands what is happening the better they can make any adjustments necessary to deal with their bleeding disorder.
We are also involved in the education of health care professionals and providers locally, nationally and internationally. The Center and staff promote and encourage education by:
Training health care professionals in the area of bleeding disorders
Educating physicians in training
Writing and editing information for hemophilia publications
Providing expertise internationally through special projects and the World Federation of Hemophilia
